Playas del Coco was a very small and quiet town, but with the passage of time and the increase in tourism, it has emerged and is currently a city that has all kinds of amenities, services and accommodations from very economical to luxury boutique hotels for everyone’s taste.

Things to do!

There is a lot of outdoor activities that you can do in Coco beach, including:

  • Sportfishing: Fishing at Playa del Coco Costa Rica is known for the excellence and great variety of its fish. Among the fish that we can find are: sailfish, marlin, roosterfish, mahi mahi, tuna, snapper, among others.
  • Surfing: Coco beachis not a good spot for surfing, but it is close to some of the best areas in Costa Rica to practice this activity.
    • Ollie’s Point at Playa Grande Potrero: this is a world-class right break that can run up to 300 yards.
    • Tamarindo Beach: There are plenty of left and right surf breaks here to suit all tastes and experience levels.
    • Witch’s Rock at Playa Naranjo: this is a world-class right break that can run up to 250 yards.
  • Relaxation: you can have relaxing walks on the beach, do some snorkeling, enjoy the wonderful sunsets on the Pacific horizon or stay at your hotel enjoying the oceanfront view.

Inshore Fishing Tours: these are an excellent option when you go as a family or with small children and want to have a good time and a good day of fishing, because they are very exciting and entertaining but somewhat calmer and usually with less waves. Here you can aim for these fish: Roosterfish, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Snapper, Wahoo, Jack, Mackerel and Grouper.

Offshore Fishing Tours: these are perfect for people who want to live a total adrenaline experience while going in search of bigger and more exotic fish that are mostly found in these areas. Here you can aim for the inshore fish plus: Marlin and Sailfish.

Oceanfront Hotels

Coco beach offers tourists and locals a wide variety of hotels and Airbnb in an impressive natural environment with tropical forests in the backyard.

  • Café de Playa: these are pet friendly, all inclusive suites in front of the beach.
